Fish and chips in Paris

Another beautiful day in Paris in the 70s, so we spent some time walking around the Republic and St. Martin canal areas. This is where you find "The Sunken Chip", a hole in the wall fish and chips place. It's worthwhile sampling their fare if you're in the neighborhood.
We then went on a tour of the St. Martin canal on a barge...it takes you from La Villette to the Musee d'Orsay on the Seine...navigating through 5 locks since the Seine is 27 meters lower than the canal. If you have limited time in Paris, I would skip this tour.
Tomorrow will be a trip out of town to Barbizon and Fountainbleau, and possibly a visit to Rochefort-en-Yvelines, a small village where my UCR art history professor, Richard Carrott had a summer house. I visited the house, La Tourelle 2-3 times in the 1970s...many fond memories  remain.
